Gaza: Last night, an Israeli Air Force helicopter crashed in the southern Gaza Strip, killing two soldiers and injuring several others.

A UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter from the 123rd Squadron flew to Rafah with a Unit 669 medical team to evacuate an officer injured during military operations in the area, an Israeli military spokesman said.

The Israeli military spokesman added that the helicopter crashed during the final leg of the landing instead of touching down properly. There was no evidence of terrorist involvement in the helicopter crash.

An Israeli army spokesman's statement did not identify the dead or wounded soldiers, but said their families had been informed.

Hamas has yet to comment on the incident.
